A Disco parallel is a refractive card whose finish is etched into a dense field of small circles. Tilt it and each circle catches separately, so the surface glitters in discrete points rather than sweeping — the mirror-ball effect the name is going for.

How to spot it

• Circles, not shards and not lines. That single distinction separates disco from cracked ice and from the wave and lazer families in one look.
• Even spacing. The circles are a regular repeating field across the whole card, including over the photograph.
• Point-source shine. Where a plain prizm gives you one moving sheen, disco gives you hundreds of small ones.

Panini runs disco finishes across several of its lines, sometimes plain and sometimes colour-tinted, and the same circular-etch idea appears in other brands' products under their own names.
