Donruss Optic is Panini's chromium version of its Donruss line: the same designs and the same checklist, printed on refractive stock. The Holo is that line's plain, unnumbered refractive parallel — the floor of the Optic ladder, and the direct equivalent of a Silver Prizm in the Prizm line.

Why it matters

The same logic that makes the Silver the reference card in a Prizm set makes the Holo the reference card in an Optic set. It is unnumbered, plentiful, and traded often enough to have a real market price — so it is the number people quote when they ask what an Optic rookie is worth, and the number every scarcer Optic parallel is compared against.

How to identify one

• The set line names Optic and names the parallel after the dash. A card whose set line is Optic with nothing after it is the Optic base card, not the Holo.
• Tilt it: refractive sheen across the whole card, not a foil glint in the name plate.
• There is no serial number. If there is one, you are on a higher rung and the card is not the Holo.
