Panini's comic-book-styled insert — one of the most chased non-parallel cards in modern sports.

ConceptVocabulary rather than a finish

Kaboom! is a Panini insert drawn in a comic-book style, with the player rendered as illustration against a burst-panel background. Like Downtown, it is a card in its own right rather than a version of a base card.

It is one of the strongest insert brands in the modern hobby. Kabooms are seeded thinly, they run across multiple Panini lines and sports, and demand for the design itself — independent of the ladder logic that prices parallels — is what sets the number. Collectors chase the Kaboom because it is a Kaboom.

Before you buy or sell one

Confirm the product and sport. The design travels; the market does not. A Kaboom from one line is not comparable to one from another.
Check for a parallel. Kabooms have appeared with their own coloured and serial-numbered versions, and those are different cards.
Look hard at the surface. Heavy dark ink coverage makes any handling mark obvious, which is why condition swings the price on these more than on a typical base parallel.
